Battery run e-rickshaws have arrived to cut the city loose from smothering vehicular pollution. Like in New Delhi, the Road Transport Authority in Hyderabad has decided to introduce these rickshaws which run inducing minimal emissions. These vehicles that are already put to use around the Nehru Zoological Park could bring back the much required breathing space that the city needs. But like every good deed, there were hurdles that the authorities had to overcome before taking this e-leap.
